The new BMW Mini was introduced in late 2000, the same year production of the old original Mini ceased and is produced at the Cowley plant in Oxford. The sportier "Cooper S" version is powered by a 1.6 Tritec engine driving the front wheels. All four wheels are pushed to the corners of the car to give its unique handling.
The Mini Cooper won the North American Car of the Year award in 2003 and to date almost 3,000,000 New Mini's have been sold worldwide with ever increasing demand.
The first Mini was launched by the British Motor Corporation in 1959. The model, which was originally known as the Morris 850, swiftly became an icon and was very much a cult-purchase in the 1960's, appearing in a number of classic films. The economic, space-saving design meant that 80 percent of the car could be used to carry passengers and luggage. The model is perhaps the British equivalent of the classic Volkswagen Beetle. More recently, the car has been redesigned by BMW in a model that is just as popular as the original.

After 4 years of varied motoring, it is sheer pleasure from the moment I insert the ignition key. This little car behaves like a 3 litre saloon as far as comfort, stability and performance are concerned. And it does exactly what it says on the tin, if I hit the throttle, it flies, but drinks the fuel. Being gentle will give me over 30 mpg. Being a fresh air fiend the roof is really versatile and very quiet for a cabriolet. In a heatwave the air con is excellent. — Mark Gregory, Somerset
I've had Mini's before and I love them. It's reliable, fun, reasonable to run and a pleasure to drive. Highly recommended. Not a huge amount of space for more than 2 adults, but plenty of space for small children in the back. — Harry Vickers, Bath
Beautiful convertible car.fun to drive. Ideal for people with older kids or with no kids as it can only put 1 particular model pram and the rest are a no no. Very durable n smooth easy to park, the leather interior and alloys makes it more stylish n sporty. Insurance is reasonable so is the fuel consumption Overall a good sporty car for individuals looking for compact convertible. — Sami Shaw, Thames Ditton
