The Fiat Panda is a city car manufactured and marketed by Fiat, now in its third generation. The first generation Panda, introduced in 1980, was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and Aldo Mantovani. The third generation Panda debuted at Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011, was designed at Fiat Centro Stilo under the direction of Roberto Giolito and remains in production in Italy at Pomigliano d'Arco.
Fiat’s story begins in 1900 when Italian entrepreneur Giovanni Agnelli opened the first Fiat factory in Turin, Italy. Agnelli founded the car company with a group of local investors, calling their newest venture: Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino (FIAT), or Italian Automobile Factory of Turin. Their first factory was quite small, employing only 150 people on a daily basis. But the tiny automaker proved successful in its home country, which cleared the way for Agnelli to establish the first Fiat factory in the U.S. in 1908.

Practicality - Lots of headroom, front and rear, 5 doors make it easy to get in and out of the back seats, excellent visibility all round. Reliability - Never had any problems, car been in the family from almost new, now done 50,000 miles with no repairs having been required. I bought this car to be as cheap to run as possible. It does exactly what it says on the tin! The build quality is fantastic for a car in this price bracket and the standard extras are all you need. The best thing about the Panda is its economy, I regularly achieve 55 mpg no matter how I drive it and have achieved over 70 mpg on a long run.
