A Few Citroen C3 Facts

The Citroën C3 is a supermini car produced by Citroën since April 2002. It replaced the Citroën Saxo in the model line up, and is currently in its third generation. After Jean-Pierre Ploué was appointed Director of the Citroën Design Center in 2000, he designed the C3 under the leadership of Donato Coco, who was already responsible for Citroën Xsara Picasso.

André Citroen A Motoring Pioneer

In addition to employing mass production, he also supplied cars that were ready to drive from the factory gates, cars that were fitted with bodies. Prior to this the norm was for a body to be bolted to a chassis. Furthermore, he created a dealer network across France that serviced his vehicles and he provided road signs for the French road network.
He was a caring employer, setting up medical and dental facilities and a gymnasium in his factories and providing child care for his workers.

    “A great everyday car”

Buy the most economical car for your main use, you can always add external storage for the occasional need. Three months in, my C3 is easily doing 60mpg, three seats in the back are more than adequate, 2 children and a mother-in-law fit on 1 hour motorway journeys without discomfort. Have used for major waste loads to the tip, bought some roof bars for the odd item too long to go in. A comfortable drive on the motorway for extended periods and definitely doesn't struggle in any pulling off/overtaking which was my biggest worry in buying such an economical car. Cheap all-round running costs make this a great everyday car and the availability of external storage solutions including tow bar compatibility mean I have no concerns about some of the larger scale jobs I need it for. Only the future will tell about long term reliability but there are enough reviews with 200k+ mileages to ease my worried mind! — Dave Furlong, Dunstable

“The C3 is a complete all round winner”

I purchased this car with only 22 miles on clock and have owned it for 13 years during which time it has never broken down I have now done 84000 miles local and long distance with no issues at all. Only had to replace clutch (wife rides it) brake shoes, tyres and cambelt at 50,000 miles. This is a very reliable and comfy car, drives very well, has good all round vision, very nippy, easy starter all year round, never failed its MOT and has lots of room for goods transportation. Like any car if you treat it with respect it wont let you down. in my eyes the C3 is a complete all round winner. — Steve Walsh, Farnham

“The smallest car with the biggest abilities”

This was one of the very best cars that I ever owned. As I called it "the smallest car with the biggest abilities". Had it for a year and a half and sold it only because had to buy something bigger for my family and just couldn't afford to keep two cars. I did many miles in it and it never let me down. It was very cheap to maintain. Really outstanding performance for a car this size. Overall it was an amazing car!!! I can with no hesitation say, that I recommend the C3 to anyone looking for a small, reliable vehicle. — Ravinder Singh, Birmingham
