A few Opel Corsa Facts

The new Opel Corsa E debuted at the Paris Motor Show in 2014. Interior space stayed the same, as did the 285-litre boot, but the interior was completely new. All of the exterior sheet metal (except the roof) was revised, but the underlying chassis and body structure, as well as some minor parts such as side-view mirrors and indicators, were carried over from the Corsa D.

A Brief History Of Opel

In 1862 and after years of employment as a journeyman metalworker, Adam Opel goes into business in his hometown of Rüsselsheim where he builds his first sewing machine. In 1899 Opel makes its international motor sport début. In 1929 General Motors acquires 80 percent of shares in Adam Opel AG for just under 26 million dollars.
In 1944 allied bombs destroy half of the Rüsselsheim plant and the Brandenburg plant is almost completely destroyed. In 1971 the ten-millionth Opel rolls off the assembly line in the Rüsselsheim plant. The Opel Group GmbH was established effective July 1, 2014 as a sister company of Adam Opel AG. This new company is responsible for Opel/Vauxhall as well as all GM operations in Europe.
